A wild out section
I think we should have a section where we can talk about wats bugging us, and have discussions about random things, just for some forum fun. Btw did I mention that I hate balanced types

I hate fight techs because i always get submitted. I spend many points on escape sub but i still always end up getting caught

Re: A wild out section
i disagree actually. Its a big neccessity for nontechs to have good escape sub points that way you can get out of holds before you get hurt

Re: A wild out section
Depends on whether you get caught in the first place.
While a good Escape Sub lessens the effects of the move, a good Block or Dodge avoids it entirely.

never thought of it like that. There is a lot I wish I would've known in the beginning. This is my first build. I been thinking about restarting with my new knowledge but I've already made it to lvl 10 and don't want to have to start over now

Re: A wild out section
Tell me about it.
I wasted nine levels worth of stat points on Dodge. I'll just have to live with it though rather than do a reset.

I thought you said you should use dodge more than escape?

Re: A wild out section
I'm focusing more on Block (which is under Technique, my primary stat). Speed points go into the stat that decreases stamina usage.

you both have it wrong, work on all of them quite averagely, especially ruthless, and power grappling.

Re: A wild out section
im a strength build so i can't get a lot of speed and tech points. I'm spending most on dodge and block but also escape sub. I also redid my finishers because they were doing absolutely no damage.

I meant my defense.
My primary stat to avoid getting hit is Block.
Rather than spend my Speed points on Dodge (which some people say doesn't stack with Block), I allocate them to Lightness to reduce my stamina usage.
On offense, I definitely go for Ruthless Grasp and Power Grappling.
Don't care to pin opponents; I'd rather rip their legs off.

Re: A wild out section
another quickie, should I be buying pin moves. I don't buy any that don't do damage because i usually end up trying the pin when they are in the green and then i lose my attack phase. Do the bought pins have any kind of bonus over the standard pin?

Re: A wild out section
Check the Move's Table in the Rules and Help section of the game. Try to schedule your stat training accordingly to get the moves you want.
Notice that the higher the accuracy of the move, the lesser the damage. On the other hand, it protects you by placing you in a less-awkward position should you miss.
You may not be able to bleed opponent's as fast as a pure-Speedster can, but you may want to get some bleeding attacks into your movelist. The more blood he loses, the better your chances becomes.
Also, many Strength-types (and Resistance-types) make the mistake of not investing in Unstoppable Blow (Attack Bonus). That's dangerous when facing Speed-types and Technique-types. You miss one move, you get ready to be hit by five. This is my usual match script while challenging:
Enemy attacks
Enemy misses
My turn
I attack and connect
I attack and connect
I attack and connect
Enemy screaming in pain (dislocated leg)
I attack and connect
I attack and connect
Enemy regains composure (but limping)
Enemy attacks
Enemy misses
My turn again
I attack and connect
Repeat until it's time to make him miss again. That's also the match script of Speed-types, except instead of breaking your limbs, they bust your head open.

Re: A wild out section
I just love picking on Strength-types. They may have +34 stats over me, but I still kick their donkeys.
Iron Man Matches lets me use my trademarks and finishers more times per 20 minutes. Thank you, Laz0r, for giving me the idea (though it did cost me some fes to change my match types).

Re: A wild out section
Also, by activating my entire movelist (I buy every new move available whenever I stat-up) I can earn two to three additional XP per match.
Hooray for Iron Man matches.
